Arabesque Wall, 2006
Oil on canvas
62 by 76 inches
This was part of the show Oh Dead Air at Roberts & Tilton in 2006. There are small and large versions of this painting, both sold in Los Angeles.
This painting is another version of my glass ceiling paintings. The word Arabesque refers to a design element, but also is also a play on words about the uncertainty around my racial/ethnic identity, something that gets projected on to me. Opted for a wall over a ceiling in this case.
